The Power Plant

You can see the power plant before you get close to it. Its imposing outline is visible from quite a distance away, rising from the treeline to touch the sky. Approaching it feels like walking through a dream, it sits on the river surrounded only by the forest. All by its lonesome. In contrast to the ornate facade, the plant's austere cooling towers betray its true utilitarian purpose.

Strolling up and down the intricate transepts skewered through with pipes and girders, you notice that for such an immense operation there appears to be very little staff. You've been left free to wander the nuclear marvel, given unfettered access to observe where the structure's gothic pretenses give way to the industrial flesh underneath. Of course, you're far too afraid to touch anything. You're certain it would be your neck if the lights went off in the Gardener General's office.
